Little ways to make the world a better place

September 16, 2008 · Leave a Comment

This is a follow up to my review yesterday.  Oh! first of all, thanks to all of you for the kind words… damn straight I look great in that earth-friendly jacket!

Along the lines of being friendly, I wanted to highlight another example of doing good in this world.  If everyone made an effort to treat each other with respect, the world would be a much different place.

My new BFF wrote the following as a thank you for my review, http://tinyurl.com/5ufdlt

It’s just nice to feel loved and I definitely do!

Kisses,

Lucy

Earth’s Best Friend: My New Best Friend

September 15, 2008 · 3 Comments

Peeps, it’s time to get with the program.  We all must do our part to help maintain our beautiful Earth.  I recently had to educate my mom & dad on the concept.  They now buy me biodegradable, environmentally friendly shampoo – baths stink but at least I’m helping the environment.

One of my new BFF’s sent me a jacket from Earth’s Best Friend.  I am a happy girl.

First of all, I look darn good in this jacket.  This ain’t no “girlie girl, fluffy, princessy” kind of outfit (you all know the type of dog that wears that garbage!)  Any dog would be proud to strut around in this jacket.  I feel very smart and respectable when I wear my new jacket.

Earth’s Best Friend’s fabrics come from producers in Arizona and Colorado that use organic, biodegradable, and sustainable cotton and hemp – I have to say the fabric feels very NICE against my fur & skin.

Environmentally responsible + goodlooking + feels good?  It’s a win-win-win!

The decorative buttons on my jacket come from New York – apparently they have won awards for their technology that allows them to harvest and manufacture their products in a ecologically friendly way.   If only more people in this world could be as conscientious as Earth’s Best Friend.

Oh!  That’s not all… my jacket came with a hang tag that I gave to my mom.  She planted it in my backyard and supposedly we will have wildflowers soon!

Friends, you all need to go tell your moms & dads to order you one now!

I love you, Earth’s Best Friend!  Thank you for making the world a better place.

Kisses,

Lucy

NOT a friend.

September 11, 2008 · Leave a Comment

On a recent walkie I saw THIS sitting on the trail.  My mom & I walk by this spot every day.

WHAT THE HECK?  that is not a friend I need to know.  Is it a monster?

Oh on a separate topic… watch this space: I will be reviewing some environmentally friendly doggie jackets.  You can get more info here,

http://earthsbestfriend.com/

I’m quite excited cause I don’t particularly like clothing (au naturel… that’s my style) but anything that is environmentally friendly, I’m all for!

I hate pollen and the lake called Donna

September 8, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Check it out!  I went to see a dermatologist on Friday.  Isn’t that what all the celebrities do?  But they didn’t give me botox.  Instead they shaved a patch of fur on my belly and poked me in different spots.  By the time they were done, it looked like someone had performed a voodoo ritual on me.  My dermatologist told my mom that she is certain I am allergic to pollen.  I thought that pollen came from flowers.  I don’t like flowers, too girly.  I like dirt and mud and goopy stuff on the trail.  Figures I’d be allergic to pollen.

Then, my mom & dad picked up Auntie Ayelet and we drove for a LONG time and ended up at a house I remember staying at last year with Auntie Amy and Uncle Ian.  It’s a great house ’cause it the floor is completely covered with thick fur that is great to roll around on.  In the morning, my mom took me on a run all the way around a big lake.  I think the lake is called Donna.  I didn’t think she still had it in her… normally we walk ridiculously slow on the trail.  That was fun!

It was fun to stay in the house with the great fur, but they left me there all day long by myself – luckily I was super sleepy and caught some zzzzzz’s.  When they came home, they were acting really silly and goofy.  Not fair that they were off having all kinds of fun without me.  Boo!

Anyways, here are some pictures I took of the lake & my mom’s running shoes as she was passed out after the run.

Advice request?

September 2, 2008 · 3 Comments

Hi all,

I apologize that I have not been very good about blogging lately.  Here’s the deal… I am sick.  I have a problem in that I feel itchy all over and it makes me really uncomfortable.

My parents have tried a lot of different things… spraying me with stuff that stinks, switching my food to food that is tasteless, and feeding me pieces of hot dog stuffed with pills that make me drowsy (they think I have no idea.  I planned to eat only the hotdog but somehow before I knew it, the pill went down my throat..  dammit!)

So I am sending a request to all of you wonderful friends…  Can you help?  Any suggestions for an itchy, scratchy gal?

It is really affecting my mojo that my skin has turned bright red and my fur is falling out on my chest region.

Thanks, friends.  Love you all!

xoxo,

Lucy

Guest Post: Welcome Lulu!

August 27, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I’m happy to welcome my newest friend, Lulu Chan.  Lulu is approx. 2 years old and her kind mom rescued her off the street.  Lulu is a Chihuahua/Terrier mix and here’s what she has to say today:

I’m definitely mommy’s girl. All I really want is to snuggle up with mommy. I LOVE climbing on mommy’s face so she would blow raspberries on my tummy. When I want my tummy rubbed, I “high-five” mommy or just sit on her foot until her toes wiggle. During bedtime, I like sharing a pillow with mommy.
My BFF is my sister, Sophie. When we wake up every morning, I go over and kiss her all over her face. We play and sleep together all day. I miss her whenever we get separated, even for only a short time. The one thing I don’t like is that Sophie takes toys from me sometimes. I then have to chase her to get them back! I think she does it because she likes being chased….
Mommy and daddy takes us out to lots of places. We like going to different places for brunch because once in a while, daddy would order us some chicken or beef. My favorite park is Pine Lake Park because that’s where the chihuahua meetup is! I get to play with lots of dogs my size. I look forward to going to Citipets every weekend because Alison or Barbara always give me lots of treats. During the week, daycare is always fun and so is taking BART to go to work with daddy.
This blogging thing is tiring….It’s time for a nap! See you next time!

Thank you for your story, Lulu!

Kisses,

Lucy

The life I lead

August 26, 2008 · Leave a Comment

My parents bug me, but for the most part, I lead a pretty cool life.

Let’s see where do I begin?

On Friday my mom took me to meet some wonderful new French friends at Cafe Claude.  I love those French style cafes where people line up to give me kisses.  My mom also snuck me lots of pommes frites and pieces from her pork sandwich under the table.  I love me some pig.

Saturday was fun but a bit humiliating.  My mom put a crazy outfit on me and made me march around her favorite ballpark, AT&T Park, where her favorite team the Giants play – I don’t have the heart to tell her that the Giants STINK… I felt bad so I humored her.  Amazingly, the Giants won the game.  I made a few friends and my mom was happy.  Win-Win, right?

Here are some fun photos:

first guest post

August 21, 2008 · 1 Comment

Hello Friends!  I am sick of writing…. so I’ve decided to let my new friends do the work.

I’ve chosen my first guest blogger: Shamrock Johnson.  Yeah, she’s my cousin, but how beautiful is she???

Shamrock is the lucky recipient of chance to share her voice (eh, woof) on the world wide web.  She is also the winner of a batch of my mom’s yummy cookies.  Yummy!

Please welcome Shamrock Johnson.  Here are her stats:

DOB: 6/24/2008 – yeah, she’s a baby.

Favorite toy: my brother Fuzzy – “I LOVE to chew on his fur”

Unique trait: I can meow like a cat.  Trust me, this is a VALUABLE skill.

Hi Lucy, I’m your new cousin Shamrock, or at least I think that’s my name, that’s what everybody keeps calling me. Although they also call me other names like NO! or STOP!  I don’t get it… these people should make up their minds!!!

I can’t wait to meet you; my human big brother keeps talking about you, he says you’re really fun to play with. He also say’s you’re a super fast runner.

I really like my human big brother; he plays with me and helps me go to sleep by holding me on his lap and petting me and making me feel comfy.

My new doggie brother Fuzzy is AWESOME!!! I love him!!!! He lets me bite him and take all his toys!!! He even lets me eat his food!!!! He’s sooo cool!!…. He only has one problem. Today I tried to nurse on him and there was NOTHING !!  I found out he’s really not quite as cool as my mommy was. I miss her, but my new family is really cool too.

Well I’m off to bed, I have to get up early tomorrow morning for an important meeting with the vet. I have a feeling they want to give me a yucky shot again.

Can’t wait to talk to you again new cousin !!!

XOXO

The tomato bath

August 19, 2008 · 1 Comment

This morning on walkie, we ran into that ugly dog with the big black & white tail that sticks straight up and is really stinky.  He has superpowers cause he does something and I get stinky too.

My mom started shrieking and we had to go back in the opposite direction.

When I came home, my mom gave me a bath in tomato juice.  What is up with that?  She is getting crazier and crazier.  She KNOWS I hate baths and the tomato juice bath was really weird.

I found a picture that looks a lot like the mean dog.  I think its name is Skunk.

My new cousin

Apparently they named her Shamrock… not for luck.  Because she has a design on her nose that looks like a shamrock.  Whatever!  I will admit she is pretty cute.
